Montessori Village Academy COVID-19 Plan

2021-2022 COVID-19 Policy

As new developments of COVID-19 continue to circulate, Montessori Village Academy is monitoring the changes to help our school community navigate these challenging times. We will continue to monitor communications and guidelines from the Center for Disease Control, the Georgia Department of Public Health, and the Georgia Department of Education as we evaluate and consider revising our plans, procedures, and protocols.

As we come together again as a school community, we hope to continue improving our efforts to protect our students and staff with an experience that is pleasant for everyone involved. Every member—parents, emergency contacts, students, and staff members—have an important role and responsibility to help in mitigating the risk and spread of the COVID-19 virus. We are asking everyone in the school community to practice clear and open communication about the risks and responsibilities of attending school during this pandemic. As our best practices continue to be informed by guidance from state and federal agencies, they may evolve over time for full cooperation and support.

Being prepared takes implementing careful instructions and practice over time; and this MVA will continue to do.

Considering recent changes made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on December 27, 2021, Montessori Village Academy would like to acknowledge and share the information found at: https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/s1227-isolation-quarantine-guidance.html

In the event a student present at school has tested positive for COVID-19, a general email will be sent to the families and staff of MVA informing them of a case. We will then report students’ close contact and notify families of exposure, as well as monitor the other students for potential symptoms to report. School will remain open unless MVA is advised by the Georgia Department of Public Health to close due to spread. In the event there is a spread causing a closure to our school, MVA will move to remote learning for a short period of time (7 continuous days). After the initial closure, MVA will then reevaluate and inform families of the next steps.
